About Robatel Special Materials

While operating in the nuclear industry since 1953, Robatel has developed materials and fabrication processes for gamma and neutron shielding.

Robatel operates 3 lead foundries with a capacity of several thousand tons per year. Parts range from a few kilograms to more than 20 tons. With over 50 years of lead working experience, we have developed proprietary techniques to minimize gaps, resulting in a consistent lead pour.

Robatel has developed a set of proprietary neutron shielding materials for a variety of applications, as described in the table below. These materials are moldable and pourable into desired shapes, and in some cases may be machined.
